Christmas without Friends was planned to be the ninth episode of Season 23 and the thirty-ninth episode of the New Neighbors era of Om Nom Stories, but the episode was canceled one week before release as the subject matter of the episode was deemed too upsetting for the normal tone of the show.

Description

Who is not excited to celebrate Christmas? Om Nom and his friends are preparing for the parties, however each one has a different idea, and that causes the fight between them, each one has decided to separate and do things on their own, will Om Nom manage to gather everyone to celebrate? Christmas again and receive gifts from Santa?

Plot

According to the description retrieved before cancellation, in the episode, Om Nom, along with the other residents of Nomcity prepare for a Christmas party, but each one has a different idea, resulting in an argument over which idea is best. As a result, everyone separates and does things on their own, and it is up to Om Nom to get everyone together again.

• This episode was revealed on the Om Nom Live - Official Channel in October 2022. It was originally scheduled for release on December 23, 2022, two months after the reveal. Also, this episode was originally intended to be a Season 24 episode. The old thumbnail also revealed the color for the Season 24 thumbnails if the design was not changed:

• The episode was then scheduled for December 16, 2022, and the instances of "24" in the thumbnail and title were replaced with "23":

• The release date was then changed to December 17, 2022, but the video was set to private shortly after.
• After being asked about the episode on a promotional video for Nommy Holidays twice, Om Nom Live - Official Channel wrote these comments, confirming the cancellation of Christmas without Friends:

The phrase "it is an badly idea" could be referring to the argument. The episode was likely cancelled over fears that the argument scene could be perceived as too intense or depressing.

This comment acknowledges the argument scene being problematic.

• There were plans for a video explaining why the episode was canceled, but these plans were scrapped:
